It’s this time of year that the fish start getting more active. They have been somewhat dormant in the colder months and they are ready to start fattening up for the spawn. They tend to start climbing out of the deeper holes and can be found roaming the lake a bit more freely.
The Rainbow and Browns are also starting to get active and can be found in some of the shallower waters. Both can put up quite a fight during this time of year..
All the species of fish this time of year have very firm meat and are great to prepare almost any way you want to cook them. In the warmer months the fish are still delicious but they seem to be less firm when cooking.
